We need to raise £70,000 to fund the new playground.

Bromley Council and idverde are providing fundraising support, and have pledged to support us for as long as it takes, so we will get there – but it could take a while! The Council has pledged £15,000 towards the project, but it’s down to the Friends to raise the remaining £55,000. We’ve enjoyed some fantastic support from the local community, including local businesses, and have raised another £15,000 in the last 18 months.

We’re hoping that the rest of the money will come from local funders, so we’re busy applying to funds whenever we can. We’re optimistic that we’ll have all the funds in place by the end of 2019, meaning installation can happen in Q1 2020. But this all depends on securing the funds… In the meantime, we’re continuing to run small-scale events – some as fundraisers, others just as freebies for the community – but every penny really does help.

Here are some great ways that you can donate to help us reach our target!

Head to our GoFundMe page and donate!

We’ve been selected by Co-op to be one of the local charities that it will support until the end of October. That means that it will give 1% of everything its members spend on own-brand products and services to us – which could add up to quite a lot!

So, if you are already a Co-op member, please consider going online and choosing Kings Meadow as the charity you’d like to support. If you’re not a member, you can join up for just £1 (and there are tons of other benefits you get as a member too).

Many companies offer ‘match funding’ to their employees. The details of the scheme will differ between firms, but essentially if you’re involved in a charity or community cause, your employer may offer to ‘match’ any funds you raise. So if you volunteer to help at one of our events, not only do we benefit from your help we may also get free cash!
